Millennials

The media art of Generation Y

13 June 2024 – 11 January 2025

Millennials, the media art of Generation Y explores the unique perspective and experiences of the millennial generation, born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s. The show presents a diverse range of media including video, installation, robotics, and interactive art.

The exhibition highlights the ways in which the millennial generation has been shaped by the rapid pace of technological advancement, globalization, and the rise of digital media. The artworks reflect the fundamental issues that are important to this generation, such as sustainability, social justice, and the need of critical approaches to technology.

Besides belonging to the millennial generation, the 11 artists in this exhibition have in common that they are part of the European project EMAP European Media Art Platform, a platform of 16 leading European organisations in digital art and new media with a renowned residency programme for new productions
