Art and Science Fair

What happens when we combine the creativity of art with the curiosity of science?

15 November 2025

The Art and Science Fair is a unique experience that invites you to learn by doing, explore without fear, and discover what happens when we combine the creativity of art with the curiosity of science. A space to experiment, create, and dream of new possibilities.

Who is it aimed at?

This event is aimed at young people aged 14 to 16 who want to participate in workshops designed to encourage experimentation and creativity around art and science.

How does it work?

The event will take place on Saturday, 15 November, from 10:00 to 13:30.
During the morning, participants will immerse themselves in one of the six workshops available, combining art, science and critical thinking.

At the end of the day, we will hold a joint assembly to share experiences, discoveries and lessons learned.

Participation is free, but places are limited.

PROGRAMME

When you register, you can choose the workshop that inspires you most, the one you want to explore, create and experiment with during the day.

Axis 1 · Listening to collaboration between species

Everything we do every day connects us to other species and our environment. We are part of a vast network of relationships, exchanges and influences. We depend on each other — humans, animals, plants, ecosystems — and the way we relate to each other can enrich life or, conversely, damage it.

This theme invites us to explore these invisible connections and reflect on our responsibility to care for the planet, imagining fairer, more respectful and sustainable ways of coexisting.

Axis 2 · Living in collaboration between species

Through the spaces we build, we relate to other species and to our own community.

When we design places that are closed off and separated from nature, we reinforce a vision of domination and disconnection. In contrast, open, hybrid and shared spaces foster cooperation, coexistence and respect between forms of life.

This axis invites us to imagine and create more inclusive, sustainable and connected ways of living, recognising that the places we occupy express our knowledge, values and aspirations for the future.

Axis 3 · Thinking about collaboration between humans and machines

Artificial intelligence does not think or decide on its own: it is born from collaboration between humans and machines. Behind every algorithm are human decisions about what data to use, how to interpret it, and what objectives to prioritise.

Today, AI is applied in key fields such as medicine and justice, opening up new possibilities but also raising profound ethical dilemmas. As its economic and social power grows, so does concern about its transparency, fairness, and legitimacy.

This theme invites us to critically explore artificial intelligence: to ask ourselves what future we are building with it, and whether there is still room for humanity.

The Art and Science Fair is a programme developed by LABoral Centro de Arte together with GRIGRI, as part of the European project Studiotopia, an initiative involving 11 cultural and scientific organisations from across Europe, including LABoral. The aim of the project is to explore the intersection between art and science by promoting dialogue between both disciplines in order to address the main global challenges facing our society today.
