Fermentation is everywhere: in what we eat, in what we inherit, and in who we are. As you read these lines… you are already fermenting! Our bodies, the food we eat, and even the words we ingest enter into a rhythmic cycle of transformation.
This workshop invites you to explore the rhythms of microbial life through smell, touch and listening.
We will discover how ferments can transmit memory and kinship, and we will reflect on what ferments within and around us. Smell of Kinship proposes fermentation as a way of rehearsing new forms of kinship that are shared and cultivated microbially.
