Photographic installation. Variable dimensions

Rediscovering the city begins with changing the way you look at it. And the first exercise we invite you to try is to look up.
Immerse yourself in this journey through images and take a moment. Your first impression may be of the buildings as a whole, their scale, their presence. Have a go at recognising them later in the city. At first glance, Gijón may seem like a complex web; that is precisely where the challenge lies: its treasures are not always obvious.
Observe the different architectural styles and get to know those who made them possible: the architects and master builders who imagined these spaces and turned them into the expression of an era and a way of living that, in part, remains our own.
Now take it a step further. Pause to consider the small things, the details that make each building unique: a cornice, a balustrade, some tiles, an engraved date that has survived to the present day.
Imagine the design process and the gaze of those who first beheld these buildings, just as you do now. From this moment on, whether you’re walking, running, sitting on a bench or travelling by bus, you’ll find it hard to stop looking up.
