Participatory installation
–
We need a liveable city: a functional space in which to live comfortably and safely. We seek beauty and uniqueness, but we also recognise that order and accessibility must be priorities. A city free from hostility, where we can all live together.
We envision a modern environment, ready to tackle new challenges in mobility and housing, committed to sustainability and caring for the environment. A city that values its heritage, respects it and celebrates it for what it was and what it will be, aware that the past defines who we are today.
This installation invites action, to be an active part of a collective design proposal. In short, to think and build, together, a better city.

Instructions:
Each of the tables in the space represents a model of a city.
- New Planning Approaches: the city that values the social and environmental aspects of land use
- High Density: many inhabitants in a small area
- Medium Density: a balance between inhabitants, space and land use
- Low Density: few inhabitants occupying a large area
- Historic City: the city that has been built upon itself
All these models appear, sooner or later, in our cities. But these typologies are merely basic references. The urban fabric involves a multi-factorial analysis of changes in scale, mobility, participation, services, physical and climatic conditions, etc., which we must not forget.
Now we invite you to build your own type of city. Each urban model is associated with a colour. Take a piece from the shelf and place it wherever you like on the map whose colour matches your chosen city model. Try not to move the pieces already placed by other players/builders. Come back another day to see how the city you’ve helped build is growing.
