Audiovisual creation generated with Unreal Engine software
Earth – Fragment of burned forest in Cangas de Narcea
Real/Unreal is an audiovisual installation that explores the intersection between the real and the virtual, the organic and the digital. This duality is translated into a physical part, with soil from a forest burned in the fires of August 2025 in the parish of Genestoso (Cangas del Narcea), as well as a digital part with a video generated with Unreal Engine software showing a utopian forest, a forest that does not exist. Here, the soil is a symbol of life and the resilience of ecosystems, while the audiovisual takes us to a virtual forest that reveals, through a scanner-like strip, the creative process behind the digital work.
This relationship between the real and the simulated invites us to reflect on our connection with nature and on the capacity of technology to (dis)connect us from the natural environment, proposing a future where both worlds can coexist.
