Luis Suárez Lanzas (1954–2024) was a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist from Asturias. The brother of Emilio Suárez Lanzas, owner of the Sala Octógono, he produced a prolific body of work. In addition to painting, he also experimented with other media such as photography, drawing, video and sculpture.

He received numerous awards, including the 36th Luarca National Art Competition and the 5th edition of the Principality’s General Assembly Painting Prize, and his work can be found in collections such as those of the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, La Carene in Saint-Nazaire (France) and Cajastur.
