Isabel Cuadrado holds a degree in Fine Art from the Complutense University of Madrid.

She has been exhibiting regularly since 1994, and as well as holding solo exhibitions in Spain, her work has been featured in group exhibitions at international venues in the United Kingdom, Canada, Belgium, Puerto Rico, Japan, China, Ecuador, Poland, Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Italy and France.

She has taken part in various contemporary art fairs, including Arco, Estampa, Artesantander, Artelisboa, Masquelibros and JustMad, amongst others.

She has received several awards, including the Cajastur Prize at the 30th Luarca National Art Competition, the Luarca National Art Competition itself, and the 1st Badajoz Experimental Poetry Prize.

His work is held in prominent collections and museums, including, amongst others, the Galician Centre for Contemporary Art (CGAC), the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp, the Cajastur Collection, the National Library, the Unicaja Foundation and the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias.

Space and time are usually the main components of my work.

The process—insofar as it involves temporal development and the analysis of space that links the work to its surroundings—is an essential component of my work. Many of my works are often created ‘in situ’, establishing connections with the space and time in which they are produced.

Some of the recurring themes in my work are geometry, linearity, traces, the ephemeral, books, series, minimalism, writing, the domestic, measurements, light and shadow, repetition, duality, infinity…

In my most recent projects, I prefer to let the location, the moment and my state of mind determine the working conditions. Concentration, engagement and finding the right approach and medium for each project are essential to working honestly and sensitively, responding to the parameters of each specific case, interacting with the environment, and delving deeper into an artistic practice open to experimentation and discovery.
