Margarita López Palomino Martínez, known in the art world as DJ Pupilas, is a self-taught sound artist. Over the course of more than thirty years, she has built her professional career through active participation in music culture, organising events and managing venues linked to live music and club culture.

Much of her expertise therefore stems from the experience she has gained through programming, producing and coordinating festivals, concerts, DJ sets and cultural projects. She currently runs and develops Pupilasdilatadasclub, a project focused on creating inclusive, high-quality musical experiences.

His artistic work revolves around exploring music as a tool for connection, collective memory and shared experience. For over three decades, he has been involved in club culture, musical research and the creation of spaces where dancing, listening and socialising take centre stage.
As a DJ, his creative process stems from a constant search for music that engages in dialogue with one another, transcending genres and eras. He works particularly with soul, funk, disco, boogie, house, and Afro and Latin American sounds, establishing connections between diverse scenes, decades and cultural contexts.

Music is also my way of expressing and sharing with others my experience as a person with 83 per cent visual impairment. Through music, I find a language that allows me to transform listening, perception and sensitivity into tools for creation and connection. I see dance as a form of communication that engages all the senses and enables us to connect beyond words. For this reason, my projects often revolve around dance and movement, exploring how rhythm, vibrations, the body and collective experience can create inclusive and accessible spaces.
