On 15 February, LON&BOC will hold a unique event in collaboration with the Mar de Niebla Foundation on the emblematic San Lorenzo beach in Gijón.
This event marks the closing of LON&BOC’s sustainability days, initiated after the inspiring visit of the Mar de Niebla Foundation to Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón. During this guided tour, participants explored Carlos de Paz’s “Plastic Ocean” exhibition on ocean pollution and learned about the work of designer Maite Prida Barquín in canvas recovery and sustainable design.
Now, we will meet in a natural environment to continue the dialogue on the importance of sustainable design and the reuse of materials. During the day, we will share our experience in the transformation of recovered tarpaulins, using as an example those that closed the San Lorenzo beach during the pandemic, donated through Gijón Impulsa. We will show how a discarded material can become a new product with history.
This event represents a further step in our commitment to environmental and social sustainability. It also gives us an invaluable opportunity to strengthen our collaboration with committed organisations such as the Mar de Niebla Foundation.
Join us in this exciting experience of sustainability and creativity!
