Performance: A few seconds after darkness

14 January 2017

NU collectif presents the results of its artistic residency at LABoral. The structure created by the artists is sensitive to human presence. Musicians and performers will sculpt the space according to the actions and movements of the spectators. Everyone has a role in this piece.

This performance invites attendees to participate in the creation of a new world. The space that opens at the beginning is an endless night. But, as we enter, the sound and lights start to jump. We are part of the world’s first breath. We are this breath, this precise moment when light, sound and the space around us form the perfect combination. This world is only a few seconds long, and we will make it live and expand. Circulating freely in this new cosmogony, the public gives impetus to the lights that write a singular and personalized score. The musicians and the bodies of the performers begin to inhabit the landscape they are composing.

The piece is an experience of sensory polyphony, an intimate creation that can only exist through sharing. Inspired by recent research and ancient myths about the creation of the world, we begin an exploration that mixes digital arts and performance, between installation and game, resulting in a hybrid and immersive piece. The structure is sensitive to human presence. Musicians and performers sculpt the space according to the actions and movements of the spectators. Everyone has a role in this piece, and the narrative is moving. Sound is combined with light, and a sensor device results in complete immersion. There is no text in this piece, only vibrations, sound frequencies and light painting, to create harmony.
