Visit the exhibition ‘The Forest’

With the artist, Hugo Martínez-Tormo

14 February 2026

As part of the exhibition El Bosque, we invite you to participate in a meeting with artist Hugo Martínez-Tormo, a day to learn more about the exhibition, his work and his creative process.

During the meeting, the artist will open a space for conversation with the public to reflect on shared responsibility, collective creation and the need to think of ourselves as part of a shared system. A moment to pause, exchange ideas and discover how an individual gesture takes on meaning when intertwined with others.

The activity is free and open to anyone interested in visiting the exhibition and reflecting on new forms of relationship between art, ecology and community.

About the exhibition

“The Forest” transports the natural ecosystem of a forest to the exhibition space at LABoral Centro de Arte through three installations that fuse art and ecological action.

The project invites us to enter a digital ecosystem to reflect on our relationship with the environment and become an active part of a living network where every gesture takes on meaning when connected with others.

REAL/UNREAL

An audiovisual installation that explores the intersection between the real and the virtual, the organic and the digital. This duality translates into a physical part, with soil from a forest burned in the fires of August 2025 in the parish of Genestoso (Cangas del Narcea), as well as a digital part with a video generated with Unreal Engine software showing a utopian forest, a forest that does not exist.

PIXELATED FOREST

On the one hand, there is the pixelated image of a computer-generated forest, composed of a palette of only 15 colours for a total of 120,000 pixels. On the other hand, each of the pixels becomes a hand-painted monochrome work, moving from the digital to the physical to celebrate the individuality of colours and the diversity of the ecosystem.

Each of the paintings can be purchased through the website www.bosquepixelado.com, either individually or as compositions. For every pixel sold, a tree will be planted in the province of Valencia, thus contributing to the reforestation of our forests.
