With the support of the European Union’s Creative Europe programme**, EMAP (European Media Art Platform) is launching the EMAP 2026 residency call, aimed at artists, duos, collectives and other emerging artistic collaborations working in the fields of digital art, new media, robotic art and bioart.
The call offers two-month production residencies during 2026 for European artists and collectives, based on an original project proposal, at one of the 15 institutions that make up the EMAP consortium.
Applicants must indicate the host institution at the time of application. In the case of LABoral Centro de Arte, the residency will take place between September and November 2026.

The programme places special emphasis on collaboration, so those selected will work alongside an artist of their choice or a local artist.
The residency includes:
- An invitation to participate in the inaugural EMAP conference, which will take place in Braga (Portugal) on 8 and 9 May 2026.
- A grant of €4,000 for the applicant artist, which includes living expenses.
- A grant of €2,000 for the collaborating artist or artists.
- A production budget of €4,000.
- Accommodation provided by the host institution.
- Travel expenses covered in accordance with the limits established by the European Union.
- Access to the facilities and/or media laboratories of the host centre.
The residency also includes a professional presentation of the results and the possibility of participating in travelling exhibitions, public presentations and exhibitions organised by EMAP’s partner institutions.
Applications and requirements:
Applications must be submitted exclusively online, after registration, via the platform: https://call.emare.eu/.
It is not necessary for the collaborating artists to be defined at the time of application.
Applicants must be residents of the European Union or taxpayers in an EU Member State or in one of the non-EU countries considered eligible.
Undergraduate and master’s students are not eligible for this call (PhD candidates are accepted), and emerging artists of any age and academic background are encouraged to apply.
