Professional workshop taught by the Asturian composer Diego Flórez, in which you will make a microphoned artificial head to record binaural sound.

Binaural listening is that enjoyed by beings with two ears. In this workshop taught by the Asturian composer Diego Flórez, we will make an artificial microphone head to record binaural sound, thus creating audios that generate a 3D sensation in the listener, a listening as similar as possible to reality.

The workshop is focused on those people who are passionate about field recordings, audio production, music recording and ultimately to artists and sound lovers.

It will take place over three sessions:

Thursday, June 1: 2 hours (from 16:30 to 18:30) at LABoral Centro de Arte.

Theory and context of binaural audio. This first session will deal with the functioning and the different ways of obtaining binaural audio.  Silicone ears will be made.

Friday, June 2nd: 2 hours (from 16:30 to 18:30) at LABoral Centro de Arte.

In the second session, heads will be made by adding silicone ears and microphones.

Saturday, June 3: 3 hours (from 10:00 to 13:00) at the Botanical Garden.

There will be a field trip to test the construction and record sounds of the environment.

Number of places: 12

Requirements: familiarity with what a portable recorder is.

Each participant must bring a recorder.
