So Kanno, Akihiro Kato, Takemi Watanuki

So Kanno (Japan, 1984)

His works are mainly based on robotics, such as Lasermice, a swarming robot that imitates the collective behavior of small animals. Rather than perfect control of industrial products, he is interested in the unpredictability, emergence, and errors that systems can have, and develops systems that utilize and induce these elements. He develops a wide range of works, including installations, performances, and workshops using his own robots. He often works in collaboration.

Works include TRUSTLESS LIFE and BAIS, which depict the possibilities and challenges of a society in which blockchain technology is applied through board games; WAN NYAN WARS is a project that questions the value attached to things themselves by creating sculptures of the same shape as digital objects and turning each into a NFT.
