Space of 122 square meters conditioned for musical works and equipped with different technical resources: loudspeakers, mixing desk and microphones…
The Sound LABoratory is a space for the production of works through residencies for emerging and established sound artists and musicians, who will work on the development of pieces framed within the sound and musical practices of contemporary creation.
Conceived as a space for experimentation in the different practices of contemporary sound art, the Sound Laboratory aims to promote and provide technical and creative support to contemporary artistic practices related to sound through three lines of action: production, research and education.
Since its inauguration on March 31, 2007, LABoral has been committed to giving sound a leading role in its programming. It has been present in each of the areas of action of the Centro de Arte, both with the production of exhibitions or specific pieces for any of them, as well as in the area of education, always with the aim of providing creators with tools for research and experimentation.
It is one of the spaces for musical and/or sound residencies through the Call for Artistic Residencies (CRA) in which a maximum of 6 projects per year are selected. The space is used by the residents as a space for musical practice, research, recordings, as well as presentations, workshops and installations of sound pieces.
