Ready Media. Towards an archaeology of media and invention in Mexico offers a critical reading of the visual archive gathered during the ten years of life of the Laboratorio Arte Alameda in Mexico City, a space dedicated to the exhibition, documentation and research of practices that use and put into dialogue the relationship between art and technology in Mexico City.

A selection of the video works currently on show at the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón will be screened at the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto (CCAI) on this day. The session, from 9 to 10:30 PM, is organised in collaboration with the Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón (FICX) and will be followed, at 10:30 PM, by the screening of El cielo sobre Berlín (Win Wenders, 1987), programmed by the festival itself, which will recover for the occasion a classic in the History of German Cinema. LABoral thus joins Noche Blanca 2015 and brings artistic practice related to media and technology, as well as the aesthetic-political questions that it has provoked in Mexico since the beginning of the 20th century, to the public on this evening of art par excellence.

This year’s participants in La Noche Blanca, in addition to LABoral, are: Adriana Suárez, Altamira (ATM), Cornión, Viki Blanco, Gema Llamazares, Espacio Líquido, Mediadvanced, Aurora Vigil- Escalera. Galería de Arte, Van Dyck galería, La Salita and B.V. arte y coleccionismo. All of them open their artistic season, accompanied by the CCAI, the Museum of the Roman Baths, the Jovellanos Birthplace Museum, the College of Architects and groups and associations such as the Conseyu de la Mocedá, and Arenas Movedizas.

The common objective is to present exhibitions, performances, multimedia projections, street actions, painting, poetry, music and the new creative proposals of the artists in public and private spaces.
