Pure Data and sound creation workshop

Pure Data (or Pd) is a graphical programming language developed by Miller Puckette during the 1990s for the creation of interactive computer music and multimedia works. It currently has a very large community of users and developers around the world.

It is an open source, cross-platform (linux, osx, windows) program, specially designed to facilitate the manipulation of sound, video, image and data in real time, as well as to develop interactive and/or generative projects.

This workshop will focus on the use of Pure Data for sound creation. Synthesis, sound spatialisation (vbap, ambisonics), reactive audio and algorithmic and generative processes applied to musical composition.

Taught by: Daniel Romero, head of LABoral’s Sound LABoratory.
Aimed at: musicians, sound artists, visual artists, video game developers, programmers and creators who want to enter the world of audio programming and real-time data processing. No previous knowledge is required.
