The “new” landscapes created by man and industrial activity demonstrate the imbalanced dialogue between technology and nature. The pictures of these huge dumps with real piles of tyres were taken in the state of California. A complex and menacing reality, environmentally speaking, which gives account of our society’s rate of production of consumer goods; and with the car industry playing a main role in this reality. In the paradoxical beauty and magnificence of these landscapes, one can also discern the traces and influence of needs created by technology in our society.
