What they are defending is culture and creativity in favour of a greater development of thought and against speculation. The site of this cultural resistance is in a border space along the river Spree, where a human microcosm inserts itself into the urban fabric and the post-industrial landscape. Each painting represents one of these three places, its defenders and its opponents. The painterly installation is rounded off by a “digital legend” including the characters depicted on the canvases in which their development and functions inform the personal poetics of the project.
