Introduction to 3D printing

This introductory course will cover the fundamentals of additive manufacturing by filament fusion (FFF), as well as the use of mid-level 3D printers. Course attendees will receive notions about materials, equipment characteristics, workflow (from 3D design to manufacturing) and machine preparation. The course will close with a practical 3D printing session on the fabLAB Asturias equipment.

Completing the course provides the mandatory basic technical training for handling the fabLAB Asturias 3D printers.

Doctor of Industrial Engineering from the University of Oviedo, he is currently coordinator of the Advanced Research Group in Additive Manufacturing – ARAMO – and the Master’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Oviedo.

Alejandro Alvarez

Master in Mechatronic Engineering and developer of a device for automated image taking of an object from different points of view, capable of attaching a standard SLR camera.
