Golf? recalls the simple visual design of the earliest sports-themed video games. The game’s minimalist three-dimensional graphics foreground the fundamental physics of the sport and are an anomaly in an age when three-dimensional graphics strive for photorealism, with more minimalist approaches found in games representing action in only two dimensions.

Golf? offers the ability to play in real-time, simultaneous, multiplayer mode through LAN or IP connections, a chaotic deviation from the one-at-a-time pattern of the traditional sport. The game is also full of other quirky details including a floating, alcohol-imbibing, robot caddy and a rocket-powered golf cart.
