First edition of the ESAPA/designLAB Industrial Design Competition, organised by the Escuela Superior de Arte de Asturias and LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial.

This is the first annual competition for the creation and technical development of an object linked to Asturian cultural and industrial tradition. The competition is aimed at students of the Escuela Superior de Arte del Principado de Asturias (ESAPA), located in Avilés, who are asked to present a proposal that links the local and the global with a creative and contemporary language.

Competition rules

The competition was announced on 14 March 2008.

Winner: Alejandro Mazuelas Kamiruaga, project “This is not a Souvenir”.

Honourable mention: Raquel Fernández Ramírez, project “Sisal”.
