Sixth edition of the LABoral Pocket Film Festival

filMO is a pocket film festival made with mobile devices such as phones or cameras, conceived and promoted since its first edition by LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial. Its purpose is to promote the creativity and critical spirit of adolescents and young creators. in a society built and understood from the centrality of the digital image. Continuing with the line of work undertaken, and in its sixth edition, filMO proposes the Gijón International Film Festival as a setting. From November 21 to 29, participants will be able to record their work using everything surrounding the 52nd edition of the Festival as raw material for their films.

SECTIONS:

• filMO amateur cinema: section for pieces made with cameras, telephones and/or micro cameras.
• Guest signatures: section reserved for those invited to the Festival – directors, critics and, in general, film professionals – who are encouraged to participate in the call.

RULES AND PRIZES*:
The amateur film section of the festival is awarded two prizes. On the one hand, the jury prize of 300 euros; and on the other hand, the public prize, worth 150 euros. The jury will be made up of members of the LABoral team and the Gijón International Film Festival. Each of the winners will sign an agreement with LABoral through which they will transfer the exhibition rights of the piece presented in the competition. Likewise, they will deliver a copy to LABoral for deposit in the Center’s Media Library_Archive for teaching and research purposes.

WAY TO COMPETITION:
filMO will have its own Vimeo channel (https://vimeo.com/user7631232), where users, after registering in the group, will upload their works and where, in addition, the public will also be able to vote, after registering.

Work must be submitted before Monday, December 15 at midnight. The award will be announced in January 2015.

* The public prize and the jury prize may be coincident.
