Realities and fictions about a rural-urban connection. A project by Rubén Suárez and Marianna Nieddu.
Based on the analysis of the fractures produced over the last two centuries in the relationship between the countryside and the city, it shows us utopias, dystopias and realities, in a game of design that speaks of the reconnection and hybridisation between places (from gr. topikós < tópos, place) from artistic, playful, cultural and technological perspectives.
The exhibition generates an interactive journey that analyses the relationship between the countryside and the city, from the concepts of “non-place” to “good-place”.
It encourages visitors to understand, propose and rethink rural and urban reality, and confronts them with the analysis and generation of the utopian proposal, since utopia, understood as the human projection of an idealised world, which is presented as an alternative to the existing world, is present in our lives and in our imaginary in many ways, and its evolution is changing, but as Galeano says, utopia always “serves us to walk”.
