This exhibition is the result of an online international convening to which 133 projects from 26 countries submitted presentations. The invitation to reflect on the virtual issue, beyond the use of Internet as tool, is the common nexus of the 10 works selected. Within the general framework of its activities, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial (LABoral Centre for Art and Industrial Creation) intends to encourage creation through a Project Office in charge of carrying out a series of calls to produce work at the Centre. The central theme will be reflection on the relations between art, technology and industry. For this first convening, the theme chosen is “cyberspace as universal meeting place”. The open invitation specified as a condition essential for the acceptance of works that they involve “technology and the use of Internet in the work of art” in a meaningful way. Each artist or group could present a proposal in website format only.
