The Circuitos (Circuits) exhibition is the result of the 26th Call for the promotion of youth art of the Community of Madrid, whose aim is to foster artistic creation and to attract the public to present-day artistic practices. The ten projects that make up the exhibition have been selected by an independent jury, based on an open call. These projects reflect the heterogeneity defined by today’s creative environment, marked by the ease in accessing information and the mobility of artists. Regarding the authors’ different perspectives, always based on excellence, this selection invites us to trace imaginary lines between the common aspects that make up a generation.
Circuitos is now presented in LABoral Centro de Arte, thanks to the collaboration with the Principality of Asturias, together with a new exhibition developed specifically for the Sala Borrón in Oviedo. This collaboration favours exchange and communication within the national creative environment, and invites artists to move forward in their work: to understand them better by accepting the challenge of adapting them to a new space, LABoral, and its audiences. A challenge that goes even further in the Sala Borrón in Oviedo, where the project expands through an exhibition closely linked to the original, where prior or parallel works, carried out by the artists during the finishing process of the award-winning works, are presented.
Both exhibitions complement each other, and multiply the artists’ possibilities of development by two, as well as the enjoyment of the spectator, who, from the secrets of Borrón’s workshop to the mise en scène of LABoral, can get closer to the poets of our time.
