This installation offers a fragmented but hypnotic and highly lyrical view of the now routinely conquered but still iconic and forbidding peak of Mount Everest. Four fixed cameras record subtly different faces of the mountain, cycling through different hours of the day, and recording changes in the weather and fluctuations of the light. This simple but elegant use of time-lapse images is both numinous and haunting; the dream-like passage of light and time restoring a kind of sacred aura to this much represented but still imperious natural landmark.
