SummerLAB 2008 is an open meeting of creators, hackers and artists from all over Spain working mostly with Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS).
SummerLAB is a participative event and an opportunity to work together in the cool summer atmosphere of Asturias.
The organization plan mirrors the way in which free software is developed, which is to say there is no hierarchy, only an open context in which free will and mutual help come together at the service of creation.
The programme consists of workshops, presentations, performances, and other activities, proposed and organised by the participants themselves, ranging from the construction of musical instruments or the development of a LiveCD, to workshops about streaming techniques or presentations of development environments for multimedia projects such as OpenFrameworks.
The week will come to a close with Jam AValgoritmika, a vibrant jam session of live music and video.
