ecoLAB organises with Andy Gracie a DIY workshop to build a microscope to visualise the micro-life of the water in the non-garden well.
The workshop consists of turning a USB webcam into a video microscope. The procedure is to hack the webcam and build a support and focusing system using basic materials and tools. This type of microscope is used to observe organisms with a minimum size of 0.05mm or so – protozoa, algae, plant cells, etc… the software needed to visualise the images is quicktime or similar.
12 participants maximum, no previous knowledge required.
