Cova Macías

Artist

(Oviedo, 1976)

Her artistic practice examines the processes of identity construction in the most vulnerable periods of life such as adolescence and youth, opening up lines of work and reflection that explore the intersections between art, education and social change. The research developed over the last few years has focused especially on migratory mourning, the structure of family ties, the factors that promote resilience in adverse situations, and the transition to adult life of young people in the child protection system. The audiovisual narratives generated in their projects intimately analyse this territory from a dialogical methodology, based on the configuration of a space of security and trust with the young protagonists, in order to arrive together at the construction of their life stories.
