Concert O Grivo

28th october 2011

In the context of the opening of the exhibition Estación Experimental

From waste materials (old turntables) or cheap construction (wood and cables), the O Grivo build what they call sound sculptures, which are activated by mechanical and electrical. As a primitive and simple-looking robots and automatons, the musical part of these pieces is of great importance.

The result of variations in compositions that are emerging from improvisation, repetition, inspired by the sounds of the world. Unlike the work of other Brazilian sound artists like Paulo Nenfridio or group Chelpa Ferro, the formation of O Grivo is musical rather than artistic.
