With the support of the European Union’s ‘Creative Europe’ programme, the European Multimedia Art Platform (EMAP) is continuing its residency programme for artists, artist duos, collectives and other artistic collaborations working in the fields of digital art, new media, robotic art and bioart.
The call for applications offers two-month production residencies throughout 2027 for European artists and collectives, based on an original project proposal, at one of the 15 institutions that make up the EMAP consortium.
Applicants must specify their host institution at the time of application.

The programme places particular emphasis on collaboration, so those selected will develop their work alongside an artist of their choice or with a local artist.
The residency includes:
- An invitation to take part in a networking conference, to be held in March 2027 at LABoral Centre for Art and Industrial Creation.
- A grant of €4,000 for the applicant artist, covering living expenses.
- A grant of €2,000 for the collaborating artist or artists.
- A production budget of €4,000.
- Accommodation provided by the host institution.
- Travel expenses covered in accordance with the limits set by the European Union.
- Access to the host centre’s facilities and/or laboratories.
Furthermore, the residency includes a professional presentation of the results and the opportunity to take part in touring exhibitions, public presentations and exhibitions organised by EMAP’s partner institutions.
Applications and requirements:
Applications must be submitted exclusively online from 3 September, following registration, via the platform: https://call.emare.eu/.
It is not necessary for collaborating artists to have been identified at the time of application.
Applicants must be residents of the European Union or tax residents in an EU Member State, or in one of the non-EU countries considered eligible for selection.
Undergraduate and Master’s students are not eligible for this call for applications (PhD candidates are accepted), and emerging artists of any age and academic background are encouraged to apply.
