Call for Applications
This call for applications is aimed at developing three art+education projects during the 2026/27 academic year in state primary and secondary schools, in collaboration with young artists from Asturias.
Applications may be submitted by state primary schools, Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) schools, sixth-form colleges, basic vocational training (FP básica) centres, and intermediate and advanced vocational training (Ciclos Formativos de grado medio y superior) centres in Asturias.
Objectives
Introducing arts education into schools: This programme is not about teaching how to make art, but about learning through art.
Connecting schools with the local community: Working with schools located in rural and peri-urban areas to highlight the opportunities offered by rural schools as innovative spaces capable of addressing contemporary challenges.
What it involves
This programme proposes carrying out three art projects in three classrooms at three different schools. Each school will carry out one of the projects during school hours and will involve an artist to guide the process and a facilitator to coordinate the project and facilitate the relationship between the artist and the school.
The programme also includes a meeting between the selected schools to share lessons learnt and the publication of teaching materials to enable the projects to be replicated.
