The objective of this annual call is to award a prize for the realization of an experimental artistic project to an Asturian artist under 40 years of age.
LABjoven_Los Bragales is a call that reflects the spirit of one of the most deeply rooted production programs in the art center: LABjoven_experimenta. Convened for six years, this program has given the opportunity to emerging artists, from the closest environment, to use LABoral Centro de Arte and its resources as a platform for the realization and dissemination of ambitious artistic projects.
LABjoven_Los Bragales resumes this vocation to support and energize the artistic scene through this call.
Aim
LABoral launches this annual call to award a prize for the realization of an experimental artistic project (audiovisual installations or multimedia installations) specifically conceived for exhibition in the Project Gallery of the LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation.
The financial award of the prize amounts to €9,500 gross. The prize must be used to fully cover production costs. In addition, the artist will have access to all of LABoral’s technical and human resources.

Artists born in Asturias, or residents in the Principality of Asturias or descendants of Asturians up to the second degree, whose age does not exceed 40 years as of December 31, 2016.
In the case of groups, the average age of the group must not exceed 40 years as of December 31, 2016 and in addition one of its members must be born in Asturias, or resident in the Principality of Asturias or descendants up to second grade of Asturians.
Deadlines
The proposal must be submitted before 12 noon on April 4, 2016 through the web platform that LABoral has enabled for this purpose:http://labjoven1.laboralcentrodearte.org
– Fill out all the fields of the form: personal information, justification of the project, description of the project and CV of the artist/s
– Project images: pdf document with project images. Maximum 20 MB.
– Sketch of the design of the exhibition space, adjusted to the dimensions of the specific space: pdf document with sketch. Maximum 20 MB. (Plans availablehereand on the web platform)
– Project production plan: document availablehereand on the call’s web platform. Maximum two pages including schedule, technical requirements and budget.
– Dossier with the previous work of the artist or collective with a maximum of five works (one page per work).
– Justification of the condition of being born or resident in Asturias or descendant up to the second degree of Asturian emigrants.
The results of this open call will be announced to the interested party at their contact address, on the LABoral website (www.laboralcentrodearte.org) and by communication to the media.
The Bragales Collection
The Bragales Collectionis a private collection of contemporary art, which aims to show, educate and train artistically, through its exhibitions and educational programs. Promoted by the Cantabrian businessman Jaime Sordo, President of the Association of Private Collectors of Contemporary Art 9915, the collection, through its support for artists – mainly newly created – carries out patronage work, thus contributing to the discovery of new values and expressions. artistic of current art.
