Call for Exhibition and Production Residency HAMACA-LABoral

Collaboration agreement between HAMACA, LABoral Centro de Arte and the Gijón International Film Festival for the development of an exhibition and a production residency around audiovisuals

HAMACA, platform for the dissemination and distribution of video art and electronic arts at the service of authors and users that aims to activate the dissemination of the work and generate an economic flow for the production of artists, the Gijón International Film Festival and LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation announce the call for the development of an exhibition and an audiovisual production residency.

Aim

The objective of the call is the selection of eight pieces from the HAMACA catalog for exhibition in the context of the Universo Vídeo exhibition, which will take place at LABoral Centro de Arte from November 4, 2015 to February 28, 2016. Wanted audiovisual pieces that reflect on the conversion from analog to digital and the transformations that this entails. (Dialogue with the same medium)

The call also aims to select an artist, from among the authors of these eight pieces, to enjoy a two-week audiovisual production scholarship at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial.

Each of the authors of the pieces selected to participate in the exhibition will receive €250 gross in exhibition rights.

In addition, the winning artist of the Production Scholarship, which will take place in 2016, will receive a prize of €800 gross and access to all the technical and human resources of the LABoral Production Center to develop their residency. LABoral will provide accommodation during the two-week stay. For its part, HAMACA provides the round trip to Gijón.

Artists and creators who are part of the HAMACA catalog on the date of publication of these bases.

Both the eight pieces participating in the exhibition and the artist who wins the Production Grant will be selected by a jury composed of:

  • A representative of the Gijón International Film Festival
  • Alfredo Aracil, Project Manager at LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation
  • Patricia Villanueva, Head of Exhibitions at LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation

Deadlines

The deadline for sending the application will be until September 4 at 12 noon (Spanish time).

The artist must send an email with his name and the title of his work belonging to the HAMACA catalog to the address:production@laboralcentrodearte.org

The results of this open call will be announced on this website and by communication to the media.
