Divertia Gijón SA launches two calls aimed at emerging filmmakers residing in the Spanish state to participate in mentoring laboratories, support for the creation and dissemination of film projects
Structured around concepts such as sowing and germination, SEMILLERU stands as a space for the nutrition and care of film projects. The objective of these programs is to generate a rich and respectful environment with the times of creation, where the adaptation of creative processes to the gears of the contemporary audiovisual panorama is accompanied in a sustainable way and preserving its artistic singularity.
LABoral Centro de Arte collaborates with the FICX in SEMILLERU Lab, one of the two calls promoted by Divertia Gijón SA aimed at emerging filmmakers residing in the Spanish state to participate in mentoring laboratories, support for the creation and dissemination of film projects.
SEMILLERU LabIt is a continuation of the Push-Play and FICXPro Lab programs, focused on projects with a marked authorial character. The second call SEMILLERU Kids is a laboratory for the development of quality children’s and youth audiovisual content.
SEMILLERU will take place in parallel to the professional days of the Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival, FICX Pro, which will celebrate its sixth edition from November 14 to 18, 2022.
SEMILLERU Lab
The program consists of two modalities. One intended for film projects in the development phase and another aimed at projects in the production or post-production phase.
A jury made up of three professionals from various sectors of cinematography will choose a maximum of five projects for each modality. The works selected in the production or post-production modality may be presented and projected in a cinema to members of the jury, mentors and professionals in the sector and, in addition, will have individual meetings with experts and mentoring and support sessions.
The development phase modality will award the SEMILLERU Lab Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission Award for the development of the project, the FILMIN Award for the dissemination of a project consisting of the project’s participation in the Talents Lab of the Atlántida 2023 Festival, and the FICXLAB Residency : LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation for the development of a four-week artistic residency.
For its part, the production or post-production phase modality will include the SEMILLERU Lab Awards and the OpenECAM Award for the (post)production of a project and the MECAS Award for the dissemination of a project.
