T-Slot

Félix Luque Sánchez in collaboration with the Lycée Émulation Dieppoise

Image of an automated factory printed on fabric. Panels: Plasma-cut steel and car body paint. T-Slot: Cut, bent and welded stainless steel. Mirror finish polishing.

In robotised factories, the T-slot is an essential structural component. These metal profiles are used to mount sensors, lightweight robotic arms, conveyors, guards or panels, and facilitate the adjustment or reconfiguration of production lines.

The artist repurposes this industrial element into a giant sculpture that both fills and reflects the space. On the wall, a series of panels presents variations of T-profiles, arranged as a language of formal possibilities.

This technical component, usually invisible in the manufacturing world, thus becomes a motif, a visual language and a metaphor for the industrial systems that, through successive combinations, constitute the architectures of automation.

“T-Slot” and “Le rêve de Simondon” were produced and created during a workshop at Lycée Émulation Dieppoise, at the invitation of Centre photographique Rouen Normandie. Félix extends his warmest thanks to the teachers and students who participated in this endeavour.

Artwork included in the exhibition La Sociedad Automática”.
