Sound installation / performance. Dimensions variable
200 Mexican jumping beans perform live an “open score” written by Daniel Romero in Pure Data. Depending on its intensity, each jump triggers a sound, chosen by a computer from a sound menu made up of 24 instruments, divided into two double sections and organised in a range of 4 to 8 notes for each instrument with one to four octaves per note.
Thus, the beans are members of a living, organic orchestra advancing randomly and in pitch darkness, driven solely by their vital need to keep moving forward to no particular place.
