Digital online dating applications have recently positioned themselves as the most effective response to current distancing measures, considerably increasing both the supply of the sector and user demand.
In today’s intimate spaces, technology plays a fundamental role, as interactions are limited exclusively to the virtual space. This type of experience brings with it a rationalisation of desire that is no longer determined by the unconscious, but by a conscious choice based on previously calculated parameters that precede in time and importance one’s own feelings.
It is in this context that Off Love is proposed, an analysis of the meaning of the bonds that are formed on and through the internet. The aim of the project is to offer a reflection on this standardised and repetitive model proposed by the digital market where emotions are exposed to public manipulation, limiting and fragmenting our capacity for emotional closeness.
