Sculpture. Plaster and glazed stoneware, various sizes
The pieces presented are the result of a process of experimentation and research into the mould as an object-space. This process explores how the dynamics and relationships that emerge in this space transform the utilitarian aspect of the form, giving rise to new forms and concepts of ceramic art.
The first series of pieces represents the dialogue between the mould and the ceramic piece in different compositions that erase the boundaries between them, creating a synergy of forms and movements. These pieces, resulting from the modification of utilitarian moulds, present forms that refer to their origin, but transformed into sculptural elements.
The second series, consisting of three solid rectangular blocks of plaster, reinterprets the structural elements of the plaster moulds, such as keys, flat bases, reliefs and bevelled edges. These resources serve both conceptual and aesthetic purposes, representing the reflections that emerged during the residency, such as actions, gestures, surfaces and interiors, marks and the dialogue between the parts and the whole.
