This work stems from the artist’s desire to approach the horse from a place that displaces the human gaze. Through photography and video, Elsa Suárez moves closer to its body, its gestures, and its sensory way of inhabiting space. The image fragments, blurs, and zooms in close.

The project explores the animal-human relationship within the context of Spain’s doma vaquera equestrian tradition—a meeting point where language shifts.

Driven by personal curiosity, the artist seeks a new perspective approaching through the horse’s own rhythms and quiet listening. Rather than a literal representation, the work is an attempt to perceive the world as a horse does.
