In this Biblioteca de Babel, the book ceases to be a repository of knowledge and becomes a silhouette, a silent volume. Although the twenty-seven entities recreate the recognisable shape of the book, they empty it of its contents: there is no text or legible narrative, only the insistent presence of its contours.

The installation presents the library as an ambiguous notion: archive and accumulation, memory and saturation. Within each volume lies the impossibility of reading it, highlighting a tension between information and understanding that permeates our present.

Rather than organising knowledge, this installation by Sala draws a fragmented map which shows knowledge as an area of dispute. The library is no longer a neutral space, but a political device: a place where it is decided which narratives are preserved, which are silenced and how history is written (or erased).
