Mixtape competition on the sounds of the Art Centre as part of the Art and its Sound project.
El arte y su sonido is a project produced by LABoral, coordinated by José Manuel Costa in collaboration with Juanjo Palacios, in which the aim is to create a sound map of LABoral when many of its rooms are sonically activated: the exhibition Visualizar el sonido, curated by Fiumfoto that will be presented until June 25th, and Ryoji Ikeda’s Datamatics that will remain until the end of the year.
Four collaborators (Óscar de Ávila, Rafael Martínez del Pozo, Ramón Prada, the Mind Revolution Collective and Las CasiCasiotone) have made recordings from which will emerge four sound approaches to different aspects of this sound environment (people, works in the exhibition, spatiality and other sounds in the centre) that will make up an hour-long CD.
As part of this project, a mixtape competition is proposed, using the recordings made available to the collaborators.
Due to the high quality of the mixtapes sent in, they have all been posted on the website:
