FIG. 8 is an experimental music group formed by:
Pablo Mata Rodríguez (percussion, keyboards, electronics, production).
Philosophy teacher and musician. He develops his activity in Oviedo from the Espacio Creativo Géiser (Oviedo). Since 2009 he has been involved in various cultural, musical and publishing self-management projects.
Omar Caunedo Suárez (guitar, saxophone, synthesizers).
Asturian musician, sound technician and filmmaker active in various audiovisual projects.
Jaime García Suárez (trumpet, electronics, sampler).
He is part of the Asturian group DIGESTIÓN and under the alias ‘El Hombre de Cobre’ he makes videos and animations for which he composes the music.

The silence of Euterpe: sound and trace in the post-music era
El silencio de Euterpe: sound and trace in the post-music era is a sound installation proposal in which, based on the premises of free improvisation and sound assemblage, the interaction between space, sound and images is sought. The resulting installations are unique sound compositions, elaborated in situ, which would be halfway between the landscaping of cinematic environments and the sound experimentalism of the post-avant-garde.
In addition to the specific references that can be linked to different genres of alternative and experimental music (left-field hiphop, freejazz, postgenre), the FIG. 8 project rests on some philosophical and artistic convictions that point to the question of the status of originality and authorship in an era that is often characterised by the proliferation of post-images, post-music or post-art.
