ÉTERE reacts to the presence of people around him to become “invisible”. A poetic reflection between the material, the immaterial and the reflections of the human being in search of its mystical essence.
The piece is composed of two parts: a base as a support that will hide the electronic components and a circle of methacrylate lacquered with thermosensitive paint. When the base’s presence sensors detect that a person is approaching, the system will activate hot air fans that will make the thermosensitive paint (in this case red) gradually disappear, making the piece invisible (transparent).
ÉTERE invites to reflection, to make conscious the unconscious. An exercise to free ourselves from an invisible tyranny, letting emerge in us the keys that reveal the enigma of our identity with the universe.
With this project, María Muñiz combines all her facets as a creator: industrial design, digital art and her research on the relationship between art, space and people, in this case, not only on a physical but also on a spiritual level.
