Carlos Belmar

6 May 2024 – 31 January 2025

Carlos Belmar Juaranz studied History at the Complutense University of Madrid. His first professional experiences were in museums and cultural centres in the City Council of the capital, in public service and dissemination. He later emigrated to Almería, where he worked as a cultural and nature tourism guide in protected areas. He showed the province to thousands of people for fifteen years on hiking routes, by bus, 4X4 and by boat, as a skipper, in the last stage. He has worked in sales and marketing in sectors such as insurance, renewable energies and telecommunications.

He currently lives in Asturias, where he has moved with his family to make a change of life and pursue a dream: to live in the cultural sector. He intends to start this project as an individual entrepreneur, but is open to the incorporation of partners during the creation period.

His contacts and activities in the literary sector come from a personal level. For example, as a member of literary societies and founder of a provincial delegation or as an organiser of workshops and radio programmes with books and authors as protagonists.

Laboratorio de Palabras

Laboratorio de Palabras is a web platform of literary services whose main objective is to put new writers and small publishers in contact with their potential readers in a space of common interests.

A writer’s main motivation is to get his or her work into the hands of readers. To be read and valued is a dream that is often cut short by the difficulty of standing out in a saturated market. Between 70,000 and 90,000 works are published in Spain every year, 15% of which are self-published. Our main task will be to seek out, evaluate and publicise the creations with the greatest potential.

Laboratoriodepalabras.com will offer the necessary tools and support so that the work reaches more people. With us, you will be able to:

  • Have your own web space with your corporate email.
  • Access to added services such as proofreading, layout or cover design.
  • Organise online events to promote your works, presentations, colloquiums with readers or virtual book signings.
  • Sell your books directly to readers without commissions or intermediaries.
