Eva Menéndez and Silvia Molero (Alma de Cántaro)

29 April 2026 – 31 January 2027

Alma de Cántaro is an artistic duo comprising Eva Menéndez Arceda and Silvia Molero, two actresses who graduated from the Principality of Asturias School of Dramatic Art, who are embarking on their first original stage project together.

Silvia Molero, born and raised in Gijón, has worked as a bookseller at El Bosque de la Maga Colibrí and created the dramatised musical interlude “La encrucijada” for the “Ya nadie lee” literature festival for young people. She trained in classical dance at the Royal Academy of Dance and over the years has been creating her own projects in the fields of music, fanzines and theatre.

Eva Menéndez, a Cantabrian actress based in Gijón, has worked professionally as an actress with companies on the Asturian and Cantabrian theatre scene and on the production of the Rincones y Recovecos theatre festival.

They are currently continuing their national and international training without neglecting their creative identity.

Alma de Cántaro

With “Alma de Cántaro”, the artists aim to create a performing arts company that seeks to offer something to young people from a young person’s perspective. They wish to use the stage as a space for reconstructing the present and exploring the possibilities of the future. To investigate the society in which we live and how it affects us, through the medium of the stage. To delve deeper into social dynamics using the codes of the performing arts. Their project is rooted in extensive research into theatrical resources and how we relate to and understand the world through art. Their intention is to operate as a theatrical laboratory, working from their own archive, images, Asturian locations, music… All in the service of exploring the questions that concern us. All of this is centred on the themes that underpin the project: spaces of transit, memory, the uncertainty of the future, the pause, and gender perspective. This laboratory will lead to the creation of a performance. This serves as a test of the process they propose and as the company’s calling card.
