The jury for the Artistic Residencies 2017 call was formed by Karin Ohlenschläger. Director of Activities at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial; Andrés Duarte, Technical Support and Audiovisual Production European Network for Contemporary AV Creation and Patricia Villanueva Illanes, Head of Exhibitions at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial has selected the following projects from among the 13 proposals received:

Room 1 C

Meraki Cía: Amalgama (3 months)

The proposal aims to incorporate new technologies to its show in order to create a parallel narrative. This project was chosen for the artistic quality of the company, the relevance of the proposal in the context of LABoral and the ability to execute the project based on previous works.

Luz, micro y punto: City (3 months)

The trajectory of the collective, the relevance of the proposal in LABoral and the need of the Center’s laboratories for its execution are valued. The visibility of the proposal in the context of Oviedo’s white night is positively valued.

Study 1

Uh513: Trial and error of posthuman (3 months)

The originality of the proposal that investigates the canons of the human in the future and the relevance of its execution in LABoral is valued, as well as the need of fabLAB to carry it out and the trajectory of the collective. Also the institutional collaboration with the Museo Antón de Candás.

Hipnótica Circo Teatro: Buceando el Cielo (3 months)

The originality and artistic value of the proposal that mixes more classical disciplines with new technologies is valued. Also the previous work of the company that shows its capacity to execute the project.

Studio 2

OFFmothers: Casa Tomada (6 months)

The work and growth of the collective is valued through this proposal that gives continuity to a previous residency. Also the relevance of reflection and the use of new technologies in their work. Doubts are raised about the feasibility of the proposal for economic reasons and the project is selected and it is agreed to clarify this issue with the artists.
