Director of LABoral
Semíramis González (Gijón, 1988) holds a degree in Art History from the University of Oviedo and a master’s degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture, jointly awarded by the Reina Sofía National Art Museum and the Complutense University of Madrid.
She has curated projects such as “Revelaciones” by the artist Marina Vargas at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum; “Contra la piel” at TEA (Tenerife); “Equivocada no es mi nombre” at LABoral Centro de Arte (Gijón); “El árbol de la rabia” (The Tree of Rage) at the EACC in Castellón; and “Cartas al director” (Letters to the Editor) by Cristina de Middel at the Sala Canal Isabel II. She curated “Visión y presencia” (Vision and Presence), a series of performances by female artists at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.
She has worked with museums and institutions such as Es Baluard Museu (Palma de Mallorca), Festival PHotoEspaña, the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno – CAAM in Gran Canaria, and the Centre d’Art La Panera (Lleida), among many others.
She has coordinated artistic projects for institutions such as Es Baluard Museu (Palma de Mallorca), the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) in Gran Canaria, the Centre d’Art La Panera (Lleida), and LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial between 2013 and 2015. She has extensive experience as a project curator and has taught on various master’s degrees and other courses at a number of educational institutions.
